Prep & Prime
Nails are gently shaped, the surface lightly buffed, and a bonding primer applied for maximum adhesion.

Dip Powder Nails: What to Know
How a dip set is done
A dip set is layered, not painted. After your nails are shaped and buffed, a bonding base liquid goes on one nail at a time and the nail is coated in colored powder. That repeats two or three times to build color and thickness. An activator then hardens the layers, the surface is buffed smooth, and a glossy top coat seals it.
No lamp is used for the dip itself, which some clients prefer. The whole service usually takes 45 to 60 minutes.
Picking a dip color
Dip shades are chosen from the sample swatches at the front counter. Solid colors are the quickest. A French look or an ombre fade takes extra layering and time, so mention it when you book. If you are torn between two colors, a sheer nude or soft pink shows grow-out the least, which helps a set still look fresh in its fourth week. Deep reds and dark shades look striking but make the gap at the cuticle easier to spot.
How long dip lasts
Most dip sets last 3 to 4 weeks before the grown-out gap at the cuticle starts to show. Because the powder is built in layers, it holds up well to typing, cooking and everyday wear without the chips you get from regular polish. When it is time, ask at the desk whether a refresh or a new set suits your nails.
Aftercare
Gloves for cleaning and dishes, cuticle oil once a day, and no picking. If an edge starts to lift, file it lightly or come in; don't peel it. Peeling takes the top layers of your natural nail with it, and that is what leaves nails thin and bendy after dip.
When you are ready for something new, have dip soaked off at the salon. The top layer is filed first so the acetone can reach the powder underneath.
